Align announced today that Stacie Smith has joined its team as vice president of government and professional partnerships. With nearly two decades of public affairs and government relations expertise in the senior care sector, Stacie will position Align to bring innovative, urgently-needed solutions to the immense challenges faced by policymakers and providers alike.
For the past 18 years, Stacie worked for the third largest eldercare services company in the United States, creating awareness of critical concerns and impacting health care policy for the provider community. Her proficiency in providing solutions to advance legislative priorities has been instrumental in shaping policy that positively impacts the provider community and its governmental partners.
In her role at Align, Stacie will provide strategic direction and high-level insight of legislative and regulatory actions at all levels of government impacting senior care. She will also be focused on building relationships with state governments and associations while positioning Align to better serve the provider community and policymakers with resources designed to address core priorities of quality performance, staff engagement and stability, and the regulatory and payment policies that advance or obstruct those priorities.
“Stacie’s efforts have led to strong bipartisan relationships in the healthcare sector, enabling her to impact legislation and strategic initiatives for years,” stated Neil Gulsvig, CEO of Align. “Her experience will play an important role in how Align best serves the provider community at the state and national level.”
